The Lightning Thief:
The Percy Jackson Musical
Nov. 3-12, 2023
Music and Lyrics by Rob Rokicki and Book by Joe Tracz
As the half-blood son of a Greek god, 12-year-old Percy Jackson quickly discovers he is a demigod who may be in imminent danger. With the help of his friends Annabeth and Grover, they embark on an epic quest to find Zeus’ missing lightning bolt and prevent a war between the Gods. But to succeed in his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the thief. He must travel to the Underworld and back; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of a betrayal by a friend; and come to terms with the father who abandoned him. Adapted from the best-selling book by Rick Riordan, and a thrilling original rock score, The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is a hit for the entire family.

Sam Garrison (Percy Jackson) is a new graduate of Lake Michigan College with studies in Associates in Arts and Theatre. He has been in many productions spanning from Kentucky to Michigan, from Les Miserables to The Addams Family from ensemble to Gomez Addams. His goal is to gain as much experience and exposure as possible to prepare for his journey to become a professional actor and performer in Broadway musicals and Hollywood movies.
Emma Radtke (Annabeth) is thrilled to be back onstage with Art 4! You may have seen her as Anna in Art 4’s most recent production Spring Awakening. She was also a part of Art 4’s Seussical (Mayor/Wickersham Brother). Some of her other recent credits include RENT (Ensemble/US Maureen) and Lucky Stiff (Dominique du Monaco/Ensemble). She would like to thank Mark, Aaron and Ashley for giving her this opportunity and as always her friends and family for their continued love and support of her passions! Enjoy the show!
Matthew Pippenger (Grover & Mr. D) With his debut performance here at Art 4, Matthew Pippenger plays our fun-loving satyr Grover. Matthew has been doing shows in the community for the past 5 years with his most recent being Nick in The Prom. Other favorite roles include Sebastian in The Little Mermaid, Minstrel in Something Rotten, and Patchy the Pirate in Spongebob.
Austin Washington (Luke & Others) is thrilled to return to the Art 4 stage. You may have previously seen him in Little Shop of Horrors (Seymour) and Godspell (All Good Gifts) with Art 4. Also The Drowsy Chaperone (George) and The 25 Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Chip). Austin would like to thank his directors and crew creating a great show. He would also like to thank his fellow cast members for making this an amazing process.
Karen Joseph (Sally Jackson & Other) is thrilled to be returning to the stage with Art 4 after performing in Spring Awakening as The Adult Women. Also with Art 4, Karen performed in Ghost Quartet and served as an understudy in Songs for a New World and Next to Normal (Diana). She was most recently seen locally in Silent Sky (SBCT). A classically trained soprano with a diverse repertoire, Karen’s favorite operatic credits include Three Decembers (Madeline), Cosi fan tutte (Despina), Hansel and Gretel (Mother), and Lucia di Lammermoor (Alisa). When not creating art on stage and art you can eat in the form of baked goods, Karen spends her free time restoring her 150-year-old historic home with her favorite person Kerry, and filling it with thrifted treasures and antiques. She would like to thank her friends and family for always encouraging her to chase after everything that brings her joy.
Ali Sharief (Mr. Brunner/Chiron & Others) Is excited to make his Art 4 debut in The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. Originally from Kalamazoo MI, Ali found his way to the Kalamazoo Civic stage at just ten years old. Since then, he's performed in over 100 productions for community and professional theatres. His recent credits include Spot Conlon/ U.S Jack Kelly in Newsies (Kalamazoo Civic Theatre) Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast (Center Stage Theatre) Ensemble in Holiday Inn (Memorial Opera House) Sam Carmichael in Mamma Mia! (What A Do Theatre Company) Jason Posner in Wit (Great Escape Stage Company) and touring with 50 Shades of Shakespeare (Bare Backstage Productions) When not on stage Ali plays on the Pro Tour for Pickleball competing in tournaments nationwide. Big thanks to my friends and family for all their love and support.
